Flexible Open Line Systems

OSI Global is Smartoptics’ largest North American partner, helping customers design and deploy flexible open line systems for metro, regional, and long-haul optical networks. From ROADMs and modular line systems to transponders and muxponders, OSI Global + Smartoptics deliver a scalable path to 100G, 400G, and 800G networking with the performance and visibility modern infrastructure demands.

DCP-R ROADMs

Flexible ROADMs for metro and regional networks

The DCP-R ROADM family delivers an open approach to metro and regional optical networking. With support for multiple traffic formats and flexible architectures, it enables a wide range of ROADM-based designs, from straightforward deployments to more advanced multi-node networks.

This flexibility allows teams to adapt their optical infrastructure as requirements change, without overhauling the underlying platform.

DCP-F

Pluggable, active optical units

The DCP-F family delivers a flexible approach to optical networking using pluggable, active optical units. Designed to support point-to-point, ring, and mesh topologies, it enables a wide range of network designs while keeping overall system cost low.

By allowing networks to be built and expanded using modular, pluggable components, the DCP-F family gives teams the ability to adapt their architecture as requirements change without introducing unnecessary complexity or expense.

DCP-M

Open line systems

The DCP-M family provides everything required to build an open line networking system in a compact, plug-and-play platform. Designed to deliver the simplicity of a passive solution while retaining the advantages of an active system, it supports monitoring, amplification for longer distances, and higher data rate protocols.

By integrating capabilities typically found in more complex DWDM platforms into a simple 1U module, the DCP-M family enables teams to deploy open line systems quickly while maintaining the performance, visibility, and scalability needed for metro and regional networks.

Modular Transponders & Muxponders

DCP-802

800G networking platforms

The DCP-802 is designed to support scalable 800G optical networking using a compact, power efficient platform. Built to enable 800ZR deployments, it provides the performance and flexibility needed for next generation optical architectures.

By supporting high capacity breakout and efficient scaling, the DCP-802 helps simplify network expansion while lowering cost per bit. It is well suited for environments where density, power efficiency, and future growth are key design considerations.

DCP-110

10G to 100G aggregation

The DCP-110 provides a cost efficient approach to aggregating 10GbE services into a single 100G connection at layer one. It supports both grey 100G QSFP28 and coherent DWDM 100G QSFP-DD on the line side, giving teams flexibility in how the aggregated traffic is transported.

On the client side, the platform supports a range of SFP+ options for 10GbE aggregation. When using a QSFP-DD on the line side, the DCP-110 generates a coherent DWDM signal that can connect directly into a DWDM line system, simplifying integration with existing optical infrastructure.

DCP-1203

100G and 400G transponder platforms

The DCP-1203 delivers a compact, power efficient solution for 100G and 400G optical transport with low latency. It integrates three independent transponders on a single platform, each configurable for either 100G or 400G operation.

On the client side, the platform supports QSFP28 modules for 100G and QSFP-DD modules for 400G. The line side supports coherent DWDM 100GZR+, 400GZR, and 400GZR+ QSFP-DD optics, enabling direct connectivity into modern DWDM line systems while maintaining flexibility across transport requirements.

DCP-108

100G transponder platforms

The DCP-108 is an eight channel transponder designed for 100G DWDM environments using QSFP28 transceivers. It is well suited for scenarios where embedding 100G optics directly into a switch is not practical, or where a clear demarcation point is required within an operator network.

By terminating 100G services through dedicated QSFP28 transceivers, the DCP-108 provides a cost efficient way to deliver and manage high capacity services at the network edge or subscriber premises while maintaining compatibility with existing DWDM infrastructure.

DCP-1610

Multirate transponder platforms

The DCP-1610 is a high density transponder designed to support a wide range of line rates, from 1G and 10G through 40G and up to 16G. Each platform integrates ten independent transponders, allowing for dense DWDM deployments within a compact footprint.

With support for transporting 40G services using grouped 10G wavelengths, the DCP-1610 accommodates both CWDM and DWDM traffic. This makes it well suited for environments that require efficient aggregation and flexible handling of mixed speed services.

DCP-404

100G muxponder platforms

The DCP-404 is a four channel muxponder designed for efficient aggregation of 100G services in environments where cost and bandwidth utilization are key considerations. It supports multiplexing multiple 100G connections into a single high capacity optical channel.

Using 400G OpenZR+ DWDM transceivers on the line side, the DCP-404 provides a cost efficient way to deliver aggregated 100G services at the network edge or subscriber premises while maintaining compatibility with modern DWDM line systems.

DCP-2

DWDM chassis platforms

The DCP-2 is a compact 1U chassis designed to support decentralized DWDM networking. It houses two DCP modules and provides integrated power and management, eliminating the need for a centralized management board and enabling more flexible network designs.

Each DCP-2 includes a local element manager with built-in control, diagnostics, and northbound API support for integration with standard network management systems. By allowing DCP modules to be deployed closer to switches and routers, the platform enables efficient, low-power DWDM deployments using small form factor modules rather than larger, more complex chassis systems
